Next-generation radar-based SLAM
Industry approach
Base-station corrected GNSS and INS systems, coupled with HD maps, provide a highly accurate, but costly localisation solution for L3+ applications. In addition, such systems are further limited by their susceptibility to interference from buildings, weather conditions and they are out of date the day they are built.
Provizio approach
High resolution 5D Perception® sensors & novel software techniques extract and compare visual reference points from radar point cloud data, providing accurate, real-time localisation. In addition, this reduced complexity system is also unaffected by weather conditions or enclosed spaces. VizioSLAM™ is currently operational across the globe in the most challenging GPS denied environments, including underground mines.
